・Introduction
In general, if you reflect an ordinal chemical compound in a mirror, you see a same compound. But there are two compounds which is ordinary and reflected in the glass as shown the upper illustration. It is said that such compounds have chirality.
These compounds have different property. The left compound smells the lemon. The other hand, the right compound smells the orange. In chemical synthesis, it is important to make the left compound only if you want it. The compound having chirality is important and used with medicine, fragrance and so on. So chirality is very important.
・Purpose
The purpose of this study is memory of chirality. In my laboratory, we reported the radical addition reaction via photo decarboxylation reaction. This example is shown below illustration. The compound 1 has chirality. It generates the radical by the irradiation of light(compound2).At this point, there are problem. When it generates the radical, the compound is added from both direction and the chirality of the compound is lost. It generates two compounds which is 50% yield. I want to obtain compound3 only but It generates two compounds which is 50% yield. I can’t hold chirality. Holding chirality is called memory of chirality. The chirality of compound1 holds and generates the compound3 only is my research theme.
・Result
I tried to synthesis the compounds having various substituents. The yield which is shown below illustrate represent how is chirality held. High value shows chirality of compound is held highly. Therefore when I used the substituent5, 6 and 9, I found it could be held chirality of it. Especially in the case of the compound9, I could get 79%ee which is high value. On the other hand, the compound7 and 8 couldn’t be held it.
・Conclusion
As a result, I found that the compound 9 is the most held chirality and can memory of chirality.
As Future consideration, I want to try other compounds having various substituent and gain more high value of the compound. Then I want to more held chirality of the compound.
